July at CDS: faster answers, faster diaries, faster last-minute jobs
July isn't about one headline feature, but it's a handful of smaller, practical changes, the kind that don't make for a big announcement but quietly make your day-to-day easier. Here's what's new in CDS this month, and what it means for your business.
Send last-minute jobs, right down to the wire
CDS Connect minimum times can now be set as low as 0 minutes, down from the previous 15-minute restriction. If a job comes in that you want to send into the network immediately, you're no longer held back by a buffer. Your affiliate partners see it the moment you're ready to send it, giving both sides more room to say yes to work that used to be too tight to place.
It's a small setting with a real effect on how competitive you can be when a client calls with something urgent.
Tooltips: guidance built into the screen itself
We've added tooltips across many of the icons, menus and buttons throughout CDS. Click the magnifying glass icon in the top toolbar and your cursor switches into tooltip mode. Elements across the screen highlight with a red border, and hovering over any of them brings up a short explanation of what it does.
It's a fast way for new team members to get their bearings, and a handy refresher for anyone revisiting a screen they don't use every day.
One home for support: chauffeur support centre software, with smarter AI Help
The Knowledge Base and AI Help used to live in two separate places. They now share a single screen called Support Centre, where you can tab between the two freely. Whichever way you prefer to find an answer, it starts from the same place.
AI Help, the AI assistant built into our chauffeur booking software, has also grown a feedback system. Every response can now be rated, and anything unhelpful can be flagged directly from the chat. That feedback feeds straight back into improving the AI, so the more it's used, the sharper it gets. If you've had a response that missed the mark, this is the moment to tell us.
A quicker, more informative diary
Payment Method is now available as a diary column, so payment status is visible without leaving the screen. Alongside that, we've refined how the diary retrieves its data so that only the columns you've chosen to display are pulled from the database. Lighter diary layouts are now noticeably faster to load and so are more responsive as a result, particularly for anyone running a lean, high-volume view.
CDS API: chauffeur API webhook integration for connected systems
For operators integrating other systems with CDS, our general-use API already allowed bookings to be created, edited and cancelled directly within your platform. This month we've added webhook functionality, so connected systems now receive real-time updates whenever a booking made via the API changes.
Rather than polling for changes, integrated systems are notified as they happen, keeping every connected platform in step with your diary without extra manual checking.
A smoother way to manage Zones
The Zones screen has had a round of usability improvements. Creating a new zone is now a more streamlined experience from start to finish, and a new search bar makes it much quicker to find an existing zone rather than scrolling to locate it.
CDS Home Shortcuts, with more ways to build your dashboard
Your CDS Home shortcuts are now quicker to set up. Tools can be added straight from All Functions with a single click, client and partner records can be pinned as shortcuts directly from the record itself, and there's a much wider choice of icons to choose from when personalising your dashboard.
Every one of this month's changes started as feedback from an operator using CDS day to day. That's still the fastest route we know to a platform that actually fits how you work. — The CDS Team
